A IV K LAND, May 9. Driving linmo to Epsom at o'clock Saturday ninrning after the Umvorsity cappiiig eeremonv in the Tovni Ilall when he received the degree of Bachelor of Commerce, Thomas D. Butts, aged 22, was involved in a road smash between his car and a Raihvays road bus liound for Hamilton. He was taken to (heen Lane Hospital with a fractured" lei't leg. The bus driver, Robert Gruy, of Remuera, and his other passengers — two men and a woman — were treated in the casualty ward but not iletained. The car had tnrned ont of Green Lane Road vvhen the smash occurred during heavv rain. The Tms mounted the pavement, crashed through a stone wall in i'ront of the Congregational Church and overturned, urecking a small garago and damaging a car in the garage. Two church windows were broken. The passengers crawled our of the bus through oue of the from windows.
