Monthly Meeting Of Plunket Society Commitee

The; committee of the. Levin Plunket Society held its montlfiymeeting this week. Mrs. L. J, ; Hunter was in the chair and there,was. a good attendance of mem--Ibers, while apo.logies for absence i were received from Mesdames Moir.,i.-Haley, ;Lett,.;Davie, F* Wilson and G. Wilson. A circular was read from headquarters to the effect that broad- ' casts inco-rporating the society'^ iteachings had been arranged from the main national stations. It was hoped by this means.to tak-e helpr ful advice into as many homes a& possible, especiafiy those in rural; areas.- The broadcast from 2YA took place every Friday at 10.25> a.m., commencing on May 7. Headquarters also- advised that: in honour of Founder's. Day, Her* Excellency, Lady- Freyberg, ' hadj consented .to broadcast an address on May 8" from the main nationalj stations following the 9 p.m. news. Aceounts- amounting to £40- 12s; 4d were passed for payment. The; president, Mrs-, Hunter, and: secretary, Mrs, H. S. Wal'klpy, were appointed to represent the brancn at the- prelimihary meeting to; organise the appeal in aid of thechildren of the war ravaged coun--tries of the world. Arrangements. were- made to hold the annual meeting on either thesecond or third Monday evening of ,Junc in the Centmy Hafi. The provision of flowers was left to Mes--dames Holdaway and Greenawayand the supper . arrangements toi Mesdames J. Todd, -Corry, Batchelor, Hair, Clentworth and Stannard.
