i • The death occurred on Tuesday at Mount Eden, Auckland, of Mr. F. W. Thomson. Mr. Thomson had reached- his 100th year and was for some years resident in Otaki. Well- - kno"wn--and- held in high esteem, he came to the district when the countryside was covered in bush. His father. came to New Zealand from Scotland and was one of the . original. pioneers. When Mr. .Thomson arrived at Otaki, ne icleare'd the bush, built his home ,and settled with his wife on the property at "Pukehou," now owned by Mr. jStewart.
