Ihakara W.I.'s Meeting
The monthly meeting of the Ihakara^ Women's Institute was hel'd recently, the president, Mrs, Butt, welcoming members and visitors. Invitations ' were received from the Waitarere and Shannon Institutes to attend their birthday functions. Mrs. Mark was appointed delegate to the conference in Wellington on August 3 and 4. June being the birthday meeting, all members were reminded to bring. a plate. The hostesses were Mesdams Powell, M. Taylor and Malcolm, . who served a dainty afternoon tea, while Mrs. G. McLean was in charge of the bring-and-buy stall. The guest speaker for the afternoon wa's Mrs. W. J. Summers, of Levin, who gave a most interesting talk on gardening, for which she was presented with flowers and .accord.ed a hearty vote of thanks.
