Gala Day To Aid World Children

V 1 ; ' An excellent programme has been arranged, including marching teams, both local and visiting, sports events, Mapri numbers and many pther noveity events. * As a climax to the day, arrangements haye been made with the Horowhenua Rugby Union for the competition foo|ball fixtures to be part of the programme. Two matches will be played, a senior game between the local fiftee'n and ' Atiiletic and the fourth grade clash between Shannon and College. Given . favourable weather, the committee expects a large gathering at the 'domain for an excellent day of fun, and at the same •time assisting to help those children all over the world who are suffermg from the ' af termath of- a war in which they were, and still are, the unfortunate victims, a war in; which the only part they played was to suffer. . It is fioped that the public * of Shannon and district will give- the committee their wholehearted supPOTt and give generously.
