Eraser, expressing concern at a statement by the Minister for Inimigration, Mr. Calwell, that a Maori ex-serviceman nxarried to an Australian, could not remain i in Australia. Mr. Lang asked whether' j Mr. Chiflev would clarify the Governi ment's • policy with Mr. Fraser. Mr. Calwell, who replied to the question, said the New Zealand High. (Jommissioner had discussed the matter with him. His departmental head had written a letter to the High Commissioner to be forwarded to Mr. Fraser, Mr. Calwell said.
