Pardon For Leader Of Iraqi Pro-German Revolt
Received Tuesday, 10 a.m. LONDON, May 3, Reuter's Baghdad correspondent says that an Iraqi Royal decree pardons Rashid Ali, the former Premier who led the pro-German revolt in 1941 against the British in Iraq. A court-martial sentenced Aii in his absence to 15 years' imprisonment. The pardon is reported to have been granted because of Ali's poor health. Ali, when the revolt failed, escaped to Germany, and fied to Saudi Arabia when Germany collapsed^
