Mr. G. W. Cundy asked what ;progress( was being made with regard to Foxton's war memorial at the bi-monthly meeting of the Foxton Chamber of Commerce on Thursday evening. Shannon and other towns were proceeding according to plan, stated Mr: Cundy, but Foxton seemed .to have - given up the idea. The president, - Mr. E. A. Field, said .that the sub-committee set up by the chamber had not met to further the project as it had been found impossible to obtain the Main-Clyde Street site for a community centre. He promised, however, to bring down a report on the matter to the next meeting of the chamber.
