Levin Races Next Month
The first winter meeting which the Levin Racing Club has conducted for a number of years takes place on the local eourse on Saturday, May 29. Although' the track suffered from the long dry spell of weather, the recent rain has restored it to first class condition. The programme comprises eight races and the inclusion of hurdles and steeplechase' .events is something new in recent times. The day 's racing will i |peh? 'i at 4 Lio a.m. with the hurdles bLgtbOuK(hie mile and three^quarters ' over seveh flights of?' hurdles. The main evsnt is the President's Handicap, carrying a stake of £800. The closing time for nominations and acceptanoes has been altered from 8 p.m. to 5 p,m, Nominations close on May 17 and acceptances on May 25, while weights will be declared on or about May Y4.
