Levin W.I. Congratulated On Year's Work

The annual meeting of the Levin • Women's " *• Institute this .month was well attended. Mrs. Kellaway, presided and welcomed all present, espeeially Mrs. Kelso, president of the federation executiv.e. The thought for the month was given by Mrs.- Sharp. Mesdames Rankift and Maugham were eleeted delegates for the half-yearly council meeting at Tawa Flat: The overseas competition, for which tlie prize was donated by Mrs, Kellaway, was won by Mrs, Kehoe. It was .deeided on a show of handa that the monthly meetings be held in the evenings from November to M'arch instead of the afternoons: The annual report was read by the secretary, Mjrs. Kehoe/ and the president, in' moving its adoption, thanked all who had helped in any way to make the monthly 'meetings pleasant and interesting, • . She extended her thanks to the eommittee for their help and those who had given demonstrations and contributed musical items. Mrs, Mrs. Kellaway then presented the 'secretary with 'a small gift and also the treasureer, Mrs. Fenn, in appreciation of their -work. The secretary read the annual report of the junior circle 's work. Taking the chair for the election of officers, Mrs. Kelso congratulated all members on the year's aetivities shown in the report and also the large attendances at meetings. Mrs. Kelso said she was very impressed by the number of visits paid by members to places of interest, and expressed the hope that they would continuef She spoke highly of the junior eircle's annual report- and wished the members every success. Mrs. Kelso reminded members of the good work being carried on throughout the world by women's organisations, but not to iose sight of the help they could give each other, particularly where there were young children., In that way they would keep the spirit of the institute alive. Mrs, Kellaway thanked Mrs. Kelso for her helpfiil ^dvice and presented her with flowers. The election of officers resulted as follows:— President: Mrs. Kellaway; secretary: Mrs. Maugham; treasurer: Mrs. Shaw; committee: Mesdames Dalton, Hannan, Binfield, HudsoQ, Niehol, Parfeet,, Nichol, Leach, Johnson, Fenn and Kehoe. The points prizes for competitions were wo'n as follows: — Flowers: Mrs. Maugham;' shrubs: Mesdames Maugham -and Hyde (equal) ; vegetables: Mesdames.
