Parents Boycott School As Protest At Size
AUCKLAND, April 19. As a protest against inacleqiiatc aceominodation, parents of Matakawau .School, north of Waiuku, did not allow their children to attend when the school reopened todav. A warning of this iutentlon was given the Auckland Education Board by district househo'lders early in February and their decision was reaftirnied at a meeting last week. j The chairman of the school committee, Mr. M. Hafton, said the protest was against the use of a single rooin 16 1'eet by 20 fe'et for 31 children. It was considered this was detrimental to the children's health and education.
