Good Yardings At Sale
For the stock sale at Messrs. Abraham and Williams' Shannon :yards on Mon'day, a yarding of good cattle came forward and a few odd pens of lambs. The prolonged dry .weather had repercussions on the sale, making it the worst recorded at Shannon for some years. The main attendance was made sup of local farmers all wanting to quit stock and buy nothing. A pen of fat lambs ma'de 30s, cull wether lambs 10s 6d. and black faced lambs 24s. ' A large yarding of good class dairy weaners was offered, but. mostly remained unsold. Best bids for these went to £4 5s for good types, which at the last sale would have realise'd £6 each. A pen of P.A. heifers on account to I. G. Easton went tb £12 10s, and a ,pen of P.A. cows.to £11. Cows ex"dairy made from £6 each down to 10s.
