Stolen Bicycle Lamp
Charged with the theft of a bicycle lamp the property of JosBph Apiata, Hil'da Williams, of Hokio Beach Road. was convicted and fined £1 in 'the i MagiStrate's Court, Levin, yesterday. Entering a plea of guilty, she stated that she had to go home down a dark road, and had taken the light from a bicycle left in Oxford Street. In reply to a question from the magistrate, Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., she said §he did not know the person who owhed the light. Sergeant W. Grairtger, who prosecuted, said that defendant was a mar-ried wdman with a large family, but that the theft of bicycle lamps was bec'oming a eommonplace practice iii the town. After enquiring into her flnancial position and her hushand's oceupation, Mr. Goulding imposed a conviction and fine of £1.
