A residence of over 40, years at Manakau was broken "yesterday witn the passing of Mr. John Atkms. He was born at Motueka 78 years ago and was marned at Levin to iviiss Clara Annie Widdows. Mr. Atkins is survived by his wife and tnree daugnters, one of wnom is Mrs. R. Drake, of Manakau. The death occurred yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. -S. Long- MacArthur Stre,et, oi Mrs. T. W. Manchester. Bcirn in County Tyronne, Ireland, in 1867, Mrs. Manchester came to New Zealand as a girl. She was married at Christchurch 55 years ago, and with her husband had s^ent several years in Levin. Left to mourn their loss are her husband and an adult family of tnree daughters.
