Since the introduetion of a grower's marketing plan at last year's a'nnuai conference of that Federation, the various State grow;ers' organisations have given . it ftirther cousideration and now the plan :has been given- llnal and unauimous approval. Negotia.tion.s with the Commonwealth Government will immediately take place ' to prepare for oflicial acceptance of it. At the recenfc conference, growers reeommcnded that, commencing with the 194S-49 seaaon the Coutributory Charge on wool should be levied at up to 3 per cont. plus the amount required for current expenditure but not to exceed 5 per -cent. Legislation will be souglit for the period commoncing with the 1949-50 seasom The unexpended part for that money for 1948-.49, together with the levies under the legislation, are proposed to be paid into a capital account to be ufted as a fund to support a " Growers ' post.
