Observers believe yestefday's revolution and rioting in the Colombian capital may have "been directly inspired by Communists to wreck the PanAmerican eonference before plans for a comprehensive anti-Communist purge hy the 21 nations taking part, could be put into effect, sdys Reuter's Bogota eorrespondent. The rioters were clisorgariised hut iinderneath there was a clear pattern indicating that what had almost cdrtainly sprung from an unpremeditated murder, was heing taken advantage ef hy other forces. The Governrnent buildings were a centre of the attack and eonference headqttarters were wrecked. The chances of the eonference ever resiuning again in Bogota — except perhaps in Some face-saving rump session — seenied rernote today. The Governrnent vvoitld clearly be unable to . provide acilities for the resiunption of full cale deliberations for days and perhaps weeks.
