Te Horo W.I. Meets
- The monthly meeting of the Tc Horo Women's Inslilute was held in the Te Horo Hall recently, when the prcsident, Mrs. Johnson, presided over a fair attendance of members. . The treasurer, Mrs. Geange, acted on behalf of the secretary who was absent. Mrs. Geange will pack a'food parcel to send to a link in England. The institute will celebrate its 17th birthday on April 14, when many fi-iends and visitors will be entertained. The South Wellington Federation Council meeting at Tawa Flat on April 22 is to be attended by Mesdames Walker and Strom as delegates from Te Horo, vvhile mony other members intend to be present. Interesting letters from Little Crompton, England, thanking the in.stitutg for food parcels received, were read by Mesdames Strom and Brown. A letter of thanks was received from Mrs. E. J. Jensen for the letter of congratulation and the posy the institute sent her when she and her husband celcbrated their golden wedding. . Mrs. Spiers presented the prize for April and this was won by Mrs. Johnson. Mrs. Strom has offered a prize for the most entries in all c.ompeUt.ions througliout the year. There was a good entry in all compe ti tions for the meeting. Results were as follows: — Floating bowl of flowers : Mrs. Johnson 1. Mrs. Hodder 2, Mrs. Shirnack 3. Potatoes: Mrs. Johnson- 1, Mrs. Shirnack 2, Mrs. Lumsden 3. Plain scones: Mrs. Lumsden 1, Mrs. Johnson 2 Mrs. Bracken 3. The hostesses for the day were Mesdames Grant, Brown and Bracken.
