School Committee Elections In May
•Biennial elections for primary school committees will be held in .he Wellington school districts at 7.30 p.m. on May 3. Where the school rolls exceeds 240 children, the nominations must be in the hands of the chairman a week earlier, on April 26. Where there are less than 240 children, the nominations V-" ay be received at tne meeting: • Those qualified to elect the memoers of school committees are the hcuseholders of a school district, ;a/ householder bejng deflned as eithe^."/the owner 'or the tenant of a housd, or parents of children attending the school who have been resident in . the district for three months. In, mining districts those holding a miner's right are alsq entitled to vote. » ' Both husband and wife may vote when one is qualified., Where. a householder is at the same time a paid employee of the Education Board he is excluded from the franchise. No person may vote mere than once. The elections for Auckland school districts will be held earlier — on April 14. ■ : • .
