Otaki Golfers Hold First Competition Game

The first of the 1948 competitions was played by the Otaki Golf Club on Saturday last, the winner of the medal being N. Willis with 93 — 27 — 66. This win received recognition from the handicapper, who has reduced him to 26 — 19. The course is in very good order, with very little rough in . which misdirected shots may be lost. The three new holes, Pines, Spoon and Olympus, are still a little rough, but once heavy rain has fallen these will improve, and the whole course will be in the best order it has been for some years. y Next Saturday's competition will be a bisque bogey, and the draws will be at 1 p.m. and 1.15 p.m.
