Marching Teams At Hutt Championships
Girls marching teams from Horowhenua" journeyed tp Lower Hutt championships on Saturday and. whiie not "galning a place, nevertheless pertormed very creditably. The championship was wofi ' bi D.I.C. (Wanganui), with Rebels in second place. D.I.C. also annexed the mareh past, aggregate and best leader, and took back to Wanganui 'thr.se cups, one shield and medais. The points gained by local teams wfere as follows:— Aggregate , K.B.H. (Levin) 274 Macduffs (Levin) .7 268 Premier (Shannon; 267 Bandoliers (Otaki) 264i Chartipionshin March K.B.H. (Levin) 217| Macduffs (Levin)" 211 Premier (Shannon) 210 Bandpliers (Otaki) 206 Miss D. Bills (Bandoliers) . , 414 Miss Stern (Premier) 404 Miss P. Jameson .(Macduffs) 40 Miss J. Perigo (K.B.H.) ... 39 The indiVidual placings of the teams were not available at the conclusion of the contest except for the first and second teams, so it is not possible to state what position the teams were placed in. Making tjieir first appearartce in a contest, Bandoliers (Otaki) marched exceptionally well. This is the newest te'am in the Horowhenua Association and at the. conclusion of their march they were gi'eeted with loud applause. Their performance was a great credit to Mr. H. N. Fearnley, their coach, while their leader was successful in "gaining top points among the Horowhenua teams. It speaks volumes for the efithusiasm ahd hard Work put in by the team as a whole.
