SELF-CONFESSED COMMUNIST EXPELLED.
Eeceived Wednesdav, 7 p.m. LONDON, March 30. The Communist president of the Rotherham braneh of .the Amaigamated Engineering Union has been expelled froih the Rotherham Labour Party, and his union has" been/ told to send a new delegate to the party meetings. Ile. is Mr. William Harold Smith, who recentlv rejoined the Communist Party, -to which he belonged from 1941 until 1946. The secretarv of the Rotherham Socialist Party said that since Mr. Smith has now admitted that he is a Communist "we have naturally .expelled him." It is stated that in future delegates to Labour Party meetings will be asked to sign a declaration f.hat they are aiot Commufiists . I'.'y
