Ilooting began as soon, as the horses crossed the line and it increased when tJie judge hoisted the nuiribers. T.>c noise continued whiio Sparo Part was returning to ihe birdcage and he was given a stormy, greeting by the crowd on the outside of the enciosure. Applause for Spare Part's win wasdrowned by boos and hooting as tlie clerk of the course led hj.m into tlie birdcage ronnd which the public press ed to express disapproval. There were .calls of "put him out" and the demonstratioii continued noisily as tlie winner was Jed away to his s'table.
