As the outbreak, occurre.d after the majority of'-*tl^e "workmen hald left the camp for the Easter holidays, it had a firm hold before it was noticed. The" two remaining men in the camp' must be commended for their prompt action in preventing the fire from spreading to the nearby store she'ds, as it was not long before the dry grass between the house and the stores was ablaze". It was due only to the action of these two men that'considerable damage was prevented. The store sheds contained petrol and tractor fuel, and it is understoo'd that a quantity of explosives were stored near to the scene of the fire. - The cause of the outbreak is u'nknown.
