The " Siidnnon Bowling Club ' was pleased to welcome- niany visitors to the town on Satdrday, when the • Manawau Centre ,colts fours were playe'd. Clubs in the. area from Dannevirke ,to 'Levin were present and the. stan'dard of play was very hi'gh. The locaL rink cdmpfising .Robinson,. Aitchison, Batt . and Picard (skip). .will play the final against / . Takaro (Palmerston Norjbh) at Palmerston Nbrth on April 3. , . .. . : . Mr. A, , i Gardiner ./ (Palmerston North) was in chatge 'df- the tournament and Mr. H. Norris. the Shannon vice-president, expreSsed the club's pleasure at having the games played at Shannon. Mills, Morrison, Hemmingsen and R. Hook (skip), of the local club, played in the senior fours in Levin and were defeated in the semifinals by J. K. Paton ' (Palmerston North) . Tlii-ee local rinks will be playing in the North Island champion finks tournament at Palmerston North during Easter.
