As there had'hbt bmT siifflcient' respbhse to the appeal to cpnserve electricity; there was nq^choice but to impose evening cuts, said the manag'ing-secretary- of the Horowhenua Eleetric Power Board, Mr, R. A. Frederikson, this morning. •Diese cuts will - come inco force during the Easter holidays, and will continue until the position is restored. They will be made sometime between 7 -and" 8 p,m. _ "The public must realise that the pqsition is desperate, and that further cuts will be imposed unless consumers- respond to our appeals , for economy," was Mr. Frederik--son's comment. ' - .. . • ' - Tjie board is usihg approximateiy 30,000 units above- its allocation eacli* week., The - allocation is 517,000 units. Therefore, a' further appeal to conserve electricity is being made fco the copsumers. It . must be realised that uttless some effort is made in this direction, theh the cuts which will have to be made during the winter will be very • heavy. *■' The consumption . mUsfc be kept _ withih the . allocation. ; .
