Americans Jump From Plane Over Berlin

Received Friday, 10.10 a.m. BERLIN, Mareh 18. Brigadier-General Telford Taylor, United States prosecutor at fhe Nuremberg trials, and eight other Americans baled out of a Dakota transport plane over Berlin today, The plane developed engine trouble soon after it took off, and the passengers, including Mrs, Taylor and two other women, the wives of Ameriean judges, were ordered to jump. The.pilot and copilot remained aboard, and 'landed the plane safely at a British a-ir-field nearby. Mrs. Taylor suffered an" injured leg and the others were admitted to hospital with minor injuries. The majority of the passengers landed in Russian-occupied territory. Mrs. Taylor, describfhg the parachute jump, sai'd she estimated that she jump.ed from 600 feet. She landed on a roof and skidded to the ground. "When I puiied the npcord, the paraehute ring came oft" in my hand. I thought I was going to 'die. I did npt know it, was supposed to come .off."
