REAFFIRMATION OF BELIEF IN U.N. WELCOMED
Received Friday, 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Mareh 18. A British Foreign Office spokesman said that jbritain welcomed ihe emphasis in President Iruman's speech on the essentially deiensive charaeter of United states poliey and his reafRrmation oi the United States' belief in United Nations. No consuliation with the British Government preceded the speech, and the British Foreign Secretary, Mr. Ernest Bevin, had been totally unaware of its contents, added the spokesman.
