COMMUNIST EDITOR RESIGNS: DISILLUSIONED
Received Friday, 10.45 a.m. LONDON, Mareh 18. The news editor of the Communist newspaper Daily Worker, Mr. Douglas A. Hyde, announced that he ua s resigned his position and membership of the Comniunist: . Party beeause of "ihy growing di3:Musidhment.'" ....... - ..y .y.. He added, "It has becorne obvious that the movement was des|fdying the very freedom and' , dec'ehcies; lor which it claimed to be flghtihg*.' It has become equally obvious that Communism is mcapable of provtding a cure for an extremely sick w orid." Mr. Hyde, who has oeen . associated with ihe Communist Party for 20 years, also stated. that he had become increasingly disturbed Dy Soviec' foreign poliey and appalled by' what had happened in Lzechoslovakia.
