Narrow Escape Of Van Driver
When a hght van he was driving was inyolved in a collision with a train ' at the level crossing "on Asquith Avenuje, Mt. Albert, .Auckland, yesterday, - Alfred ' Joseph Mater, aged 42, of 5 Erewster Avenue, Mt. Alfrert, suffered concussion andK abrasipns. The van was carried v a hundred feet along the line and- -then throwp clear and badly smashed. The van driver feli tp the side of. the line as the vehicle was peing carried along. His condition is not serious.
