Relic In Drain Auckland and Dunedin museum | authorities are • making investigations in connection with an interesting relic found - on a property at Temuka. While cleaning a drain, Mr. I. Stanley found a curved piece of wood more than 2 ft. in length, with serrated .edges and holes in the centre. Oregons In Cantcrbury North Auckland is justly proud of its kauris, fcut Mr. B: S. Robertson, who lives in the Mackenzie Counj " try, Canterbury is equally proud of the oregon trees which grow on his property 1500 ft. above sea level. The trees attracted the attention of the Royal Commission on Sheepfarming when members visited his j home recently. The trees are j aoout 20 years old and . are thriving in spite of the fact that experts have said they would not grow in the country. They provide excellent shelter for sheep.
