Junior Chamber Teas Start On April 1
That the.' first tea meeting • for the current year be held on Thursday, April 1, and that it take the f orm . of an- open forum for members, was a decision reached at the first board meeting for the" curreht year of the Levin JuniOr Chamoer of Commerce, held ' on Tuesday evening and presided over by the. newly-elected president, Mr. N. Thornley . It was also decided that tea meetings be held once- nronthly this year, as against. fortnightly last year, as this would make more evenings available for additional social functions it is proposed to hold this year. In congratulating those members of the board who had been .reelected and • • welcoming those newly-elected," Mr. Thornley said: that he felt honoured to be associ-
ated with the type -of member offering for the admtnistrative work of the board. Reviewing•, the two initial years of the chamber's activities, Mr. Thornley said that they had experienced ups and. downs, but the ground work had been wqll done and they could now anticipate going from success to success. Jaycee would' be moving forward^very definitely this year. Concluding, he appe'aled to all board members to accept their full share of responsibility, and. to work in co-operatidn with himself. Group convehers- were then appointed as follows: Public speaking, Mr. R. Anteliff; civic affairs, Messrs.-W. G. Phillips and J. W. Lynch; publicity, Messrs. J.. W. Barrat and T. A. Kerslake; enter- • tainment, Messrs. G. H. Sorenson j-and C. B. Greenaway; membership, Mr. N. D. Tilley; blood bank proje'ct, Mr. R. H. Long; chairman of committees, Mr. J.
