Fruit In Good Supply
Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Lt'd., fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that during the past week the market has been heavily supplied with most varieties of fruit, peaches being particularly hard to quit. However, there is an exceptionally strong demand for all varieties of late plums. Passionfruit has been arriving in increase'd quantities. with values remaining fairly firm. Tomatoes have been a glut on the mafket, with saies being made as low as ls per case. In the vegetable section all greens are in strong . 'demand, ceiling price being the order of the day. Hdavy yardings of poultry have been offered, with values remaining firm at late rates.
