Otaki Waac Married In Japan
A New Zealand Waac and an Australian soldier, who met'Shortly after the arrival of the present JForce, and who were engaged a few days later, were married in. Chofu on March 5. They were Margaret Douglas Fox, second 'daughter of Mr, and Mrs. E. J. Fox, .' of Otaki Railway, and Cpl. Neville Francis Pretty, of B1C.O.F. Movement Control, only &on of Mr. -and Mrs. Pretty, of South Yarra, Melbourne. The eeremony was held in the Roman Catholic chapel at 2nd N.Z.E.F. Headquarters, 4Father J. Henley offlciating. A fellow Waac, Miss. Olga Walker, of Wellington, was organist. The bride/who was given away by Captain M. J. Egan, of Invercargill, wore a froek of pale cream m'arquisette with traditional veil, and coronet of orange blossom and bouquet of carnations. Another Waac, Miss Mona Dyer, of Brooklyn, Wellington, was bridesmaid. She wore a lavender marquisette ^frock and cap. The bestman was Captain W. Cornish. /The reception was held in the Waacs' mess, Hisano House, and the gu&sts were received by the O.C. of the W.A.A.C.'s, Subaltern E. M. Pysdern, of Wellington. ' Corporal and Mrs. Pretty are due to leave Japan for Australia in May. -
