After the matters had been fully outlined, the two representatives stated that they would report back to their council and when a decision was arrived at a reply to the council's reque'sts would be forwarded. The secon'd deputatlon, which was from the Shannon and district War t Ivfemorial Hall committee, comprised Messrs. R. R. Lind, F. O. Burtt, J. R. Herbert and W. C. Higgie. This deputation waited on the council and asked if it was the opinion- of the present council that the site purchased by the previous council, next to the Municipal .Buildings, would be available for the erection of the proposed memorial hall. This was the opinion of the previous council, stated Mr. Lind, and as the memorial hall committee had an offer to prepare a 'draft plan of a suitable building, a decision on the site would be> appreciated. The Mayor (Mr. D. A. Fitzgerald) stated that the council would consider the points raised by the deputation and forward a reply to the committee. It was arrange'd that the council meet on Wednesday evening to discuss the matter.
