The annuai generai meeting . of thi otaki Football ciub was, held omThursday hight, when a good atten'dance. The president, Mr T V. Cahill, occupied the chair,. and before prooeedmg with thn ordinary business m?v^h^,^and svmpathy with Mr. J. Johnsomano family in their recentbereavemenu, The motion was carried ln silence,. all standing. -n MU«nn The secretary, Mr. sO. Niisson, reported that the credit balance ot the club stood at £42 16s 8d, while a quantity of material was m hand. The nresident, referring to the
proposed amalgamation _on wie Otaki ahd Rahui Clubs, said he had that day received advice that the . Rahui Ciub did not favour amalgamation. This decision had been arriv.ed at after the delegates of the Otaki Club had attended a meeting with Rahui. In the. discussion which followed several speakef s; who wer,e. for and against the proposai, considered _ that tne amalgamation of. the two clubs would not' greatly strengthen the Otaki- Ciub, as Rahui did not haye many senior- players.. However, amalgamation would have bolstered up the junior grades. It was decided to- take ho further action, although the hope was expresseq that the junior grades would comkine It ' was stated that probably Hui Mai (Manakau) would not have a team ' this season, and that there was a possibility . of the members jpining up with either Otaki or Wanderers. - The election of officers resulted as follows: — Patron: Mr. W. McBeth (re-elected) ; vice-patron: Mr. H. B. Edhouse (re-elected) ; president: Mr. R. Jones; treasurer: Mr. E. Cook; secretary: Mr. Ken Merwood; senior coach: Mr, G. It was- agreed to endeavour to make arrangements with the Otaki . Cricket Club for the use of the domain on Easter Saturday,. when it was expected thac Petone would pay a visit.
