Received Fridav, 7 p.m. LONDON, March. 5, The following is, the text of the resolution unanimously adopted by a mass! meeting of 10,000 people in Belize, tlie eapital of British Honduras: "We, the people of Belize, recall that memorable day 150 years ago when our forefathers, the baymen with red blood coursing through their veins, resolved to defy and djd defy and defeat the men of Spain and made secure to theihselves and their deseendants
for all time their proud and - sacred British heritage. Tlie same red blood still 'courses througb our veins. We are lilled with the saiue resoiutiou/with the aid. of 'the Aiother Country, to def'end to the death, our rights and liberties and to maintain within the British Empire the place of this our blessed country. We express our appreejation i of the naval forces sent to protect Our; lives and property in ednsequence of!, the threat of invasion. " The reference to "baymen" is to the ofiginal'Hiitish settlers of Honduras wlio, as "baymen" or logu'ood cutters, soundly ' defeated the powerful; Bpanish fleet at the battle of ftaint ; George's Day on September 10, 17983 This day is still observed as a national holiday in British Hon'duras.
