British Coal For N.Z.
The Goveijnment appears to be having some difiiculty in securing its target of 10,000 tons of coal from Britain set for this year. It. is known that inquiries are being made all over the world, .and authoritative sources predict the possibility of New Zealand importing coal from South Afriea, and possiblj* India.. Most of the coal would be for railways use, '■ and unless negotiations are successful the. railways will be hard put t-o maintain present schedules.
