A member of the local croquet club, Mrs. Giimour, fecently took part the championships at Pal-, merston North and gave a very good aceount of herself, being runner^up in the A.grade siiigles arid al$o the .A- grade Ifevel singles.: Mrs. [Giimour and Mrs.Davidsofi CNdrth-fer-n)^played togetheT lh/*S|ie i:handicap doufeles and reached the semifinals, In a match for the Brown Buttons played recently, Mesdames Dalzell andr Murray, 26; defeated Mesdames Mason and Bull, 21. Mesdames Pine and Holdaway, 2'6; defeated Mesdames Mason and Bull, 25, A gala day was held on February 18 and proved to be very successful. Competition winners were:— Ladderr Mrs. Suhan; Aunt Sally; Mrs. E. Williams; gbif croquet: Mrs. Long (Wellington) , The third found of the Couhcil Cup was played on February 25, the Levin Club meeting Otaki Munieipa'l on the home lawns. Otaki -won tfie day by threey points. . Details are as follows, Otaki players mentioned first: — - Singles: Mrs, Purvis, 26: defeated Mrs. Gilmofir, 12. Mrs. Silverwood, 12-;_lost to MfSi Boulton, ^Q. Doubles: Mesdames. Silverwqod and McBeth,- 23; lost to. Mesdames Pme and Williams, 26. ' Mrs. PuYvis and Miss Young, 26; defeated Mesdames Dalzell and Bull. 20.
