Departments Lose Big Sums By Thefts
Beceived Fridav. 8.45 p.m. . CAXBFRBA, Feb. 20. Thefts of goods and money from Commonwealth departments last yea>* totalled £159,000, according to a report of the Auditor-Ceneral. The Armv. alone lost £82,000 and only a fraction of that amouut was in money. There were 874 individual losses from Armv stores valued at from ^1 to more than £100. Losses rn the Department of Air totalled £86,000 and the Xavy £18,000. Other losses included £11,000 worth of housing materials and £5000 from the Poatal Department.
