W.D.F.F. Picnic In Place Of Meeting
A picnic on the banks of the Ohau River was held by the Ohau branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers instead of its usual monthly meeting, Although the weather jvas perfect, - the attendance of members was somewhat disappointing, probably . due to the infantile paralysis res'jtric?tions.. " F our. competitions were hel^^.bi"ing the day. Butterflies had -been cunnihgly hidden" in the sufrouriding- bush and Mr#,;"^aII.fppffd the largest number of-tnenf'l'io win a prize, The lucky butterfly was found by Mrs. H. S, S.aint, who also received a prize. The second competition was the trimming of a hat from anything that could be found and it was won by Mrs. H. Saint, with Miss Betty Lewis second. Mrs. Benning made the best posy from anything growing in the vicinity, while Mrs. H. S. Saint was second. Mrs. H. Nicholas and Mrs. J. A. Kilsby were equal for first place in the chain stepping. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Benning, W. * Page, R. E. Hogg and S. C. Saint In order to raise money for division funds, a stall will be held in March. A eollectioh of goods for food parcels for Britain will also take place.
