Search For Escapee In Scrub On Hills
DUNEDIN, Feb. 10. A large party of detectives and constables is seouring the scrub covered hills near Waitati township, 12 miles uorth of Dunedin, for William Albert Harrington, aged 45, who escaped from Paparua prison outside Christchurch 011 January 20. Harrington was arrested last night by Constable Gow, of Waitati, and a fully loaded small bore rifle was taken from him. His arrest followed information received by the police that a house in the district had been entered and a quantity of food reraoved. Harrington, who was serving a sentence for attempted rape, submitted to the constable without a struggle but while he was being taken iuto tlie township, he suddenly bolted,. jumping down i bank "covered with densd acrub, and jscaped again.
