E. Hudson; however, expressed the opinion that r.egular customers were better off under a system whereby they reeeived one gallon of petrol each day from their supplier. The members in that organisation had made every endeavour to make the scheme work. Others are very thankful that some deflnite system has been reached. One stated that he thought that what had caused the shortage in Levin, was the fact that many Wellington motorists had wanted their tanks filled when they passed through. "This will definitely relieve the. position in Wellington, and thus throughout the province," stated another. The rationing would save hundreds of gallons of petrol through the elimination, particularly in the cities, of the long queues, with the consequent - stopping and starting of motors before a customer is served, was the opinion of one garage proprietor.
