The many friends of Dr. L. J. Hunter, who has recently been indisposed, will be pleased to know that he- is making good progress towards recovery. The chairman (Mr. A. M. Colquhoun) and clerk (Mr.~>. H. Hudson) were on Wednesday appointed as the Horowhenua County Council's representatives to attend the annual conference of the New Zealand Counties' Association, which will be held at Rotorua on'June 16 and 17. Mr. S. Howard Hunter, at one time a resident of Levin and for some. y-ejars since prominently associated with manufacturers' organisations, wds this week installed in office as the new president of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federatjon. He is one of the youngest men to have held the position.
