Teachers To Discuss School Lessons With Parents

The assignments of . school .lessons prepared by the Education Department are now coming to hand at the local school. Work for primers three and four and standards one and three have arrived and thpse for other classes, are expected scon. The lessons will be dispatched to pupils .just as soon as they come to hand. > '' The responSie of some pupils to the correspondence lessons has been excellent, but others are taking too long to complete the work set down, stated Mr. F. O. Burtt, headmaster of the local school in an interview yesterday. As there seems to be some difficulty in interpreting some of the instructions, it has been decided. to hold a meeting of parents at the local school on Monday evening, February 16, at 8 p.m., when it is hoped that any difflculties will be smoothed away as far as it is possible. An effort is being made to serve the children below primer tliree and parents attending the meeting on Monday evening may be able to arrange for the'infant teachers to visit their homes to demonstrate methods to help them in their present difficulty. Mr. Burtt has requested that as inany parents as .possible make an effort to attend the meeting as it will benefit ihem greatly in assisting their childi-en m the present emergency.
