Ladies' Bowling # Members of tlie Otaki Railway Ladies' Bowling -Club will hold^ a tournament -on Tuesday, February 24, wlien several outside clubs will be eompeting. •, Unauthorised Water Supply • 'Olfenders wbo have made unauthorised connections to the Waimeha water supply are to- be seryed with notice that they will be diseonnected within '14 days of the notice. This decision was made by the Horowhenua County Council yesterday, acting on a* recommendation from its works committee, which had given eonsideration of the use which was being made of water outside the water supply area. Paraparaumu To Kapiti Fojir memhers ' of the Petone Swimming Club will . attempt on Sunday to make the difficult crossing of five miles from Paraparaumu to Kapiti Island — a feat which, it is clainied, has yet to be accomplish-
ed by a white man, The Petone Club is.onaking every endeavour to retain the Peck Shield for the harbour swim this year and, with tliis in view, is fostering long distance swimming, particularly among the younger club members. Launch owners of Paraparaumu are cooperating with the club for Sunday 's swim and every effort is being made to obtain a walkie-talkie so that the public on the beach will be' able to f ollow the progress of the swimmers.
