Both Sides Adopt "Wait And See" PoRcy

WELLINGTON, Feb. 12. Both sides "to" the carpenters' goslcw dispute are at present reported to be adopting an attitude pf 'wait. and see" as'far as any official aetion to resolv.e the problem is concerned. A day after the policy was reimposed followlng the collapse of fcalks -between the master builders and the union, it is claimed that che union is applying the policy successf ully and that there is • ia ready response hy the workers to the direetion from -the national sxecutive. Before going to their employment next Tuesday, the unionists will be addressed at a stop-work meeting by the National Secretary of the organisation, Mr. R. Stanley, of Auckland. In Wellington and the Hutt Valley, the go-slow policy has been resumed on all major jobs and is being extended to all the smailer ones. Employers are stated to be awaiting an announcement. from the Government regarding their willingness to have the union's case for an increased minimum wage reheard by the Arbitration Court. _________________
