Slight Earthquake In Levin

At slight shock of earthquake, lasting for approximately 30 se'cv onds, was. felt in Levin at 11.14 o'clock last night. It was preceded by a fairly loud rumbling. In Wellington the tremor was • fairly sharp, according to a Press Association message. It- began afc a swaying motion, which lasted a few seconds, subsided and then renew^ ed itself with another and stronger movement. In all the' shock was felt for .about 45 seconds. It setlights swinging an'd windows rattliug, and awakened many sleepers. The shake was felt at Masterton, but apparently not at Napier, Hastings^ Palmerston North or Nelson, according to enquiries made from these' districts.
