Moore lost to R. Lester 2 — 6, R. Vinsen beat J. Chambers 6 — 5. Ladies' singles: Miss J. Pigott beat Mrs. J. Chambers 6 — 2, Miss C. Burke beat Miss M. Simes 6 — 2, Miss F. Peni beat Miss M.. Murdock 6 — 2, Mrs. C. Wishart beat Mrs. J. Baker 6 — 3, Miss J. Clough beat Miss J. Murdock 6 — 5, Miss J. Parr lost'to Mrs. D. Higgie 4 — 6. Combined doubles: Edmonds and Miss Pigott lost to Hateley and Mrs. Chambers 3— 6, Mortimer and Miss Burke beat Trip and Miss Simes 6 — 2, Tippler and Miss Peni beat Church and Mrs. Baker 6—2, Picard and Mrs. Wishart beat Baker and Miss M. Chureh, on behalf of the Mangaore Club, extended thanks to the Shannon Club for the most enjoyable afternoon and congratulated them on -their" success. He expressed the hope that a return match could be played before the end of the season. In reply, Mr. K. Batt expressed his club's appreciation for the visit from the Mangaore team and endorsed Mr. Church's remarks regarding a return match.
