Personal Rev. Father McGrath, of Wellingbon, has taken up residence in Otaki as Parish Priest. Mr. Alf. Peters, who has been on a holiday . visit to Te Kuiti, has returned to his home at Otaki. Among the nurSes who have passed their maternity examinations are Nurses E. A". Jackson and N. J. Murphy, of Otaki. Dr. E. G. Atmore left by plane' for Dunedin yesterday to attend •the medical conference being held •there in connection with the cfenItennial celebrations. During her absence Dr. John M'. Boyd, of vLower Hutt, will act as her locum 'tenens. ,
Welcome Rain - Rain of a very welcome nature has f allen in Otaki and will have a beneficial effect on pastures and gardens. Some of the channels in the. main street were unable to cope> with all the water. Yital Statistics Vital statistics for Otaki for January were: — Births : European 11, Maori 3. Sale of Sections Every section offered at public axiction at Waikanae on Saturday was sold, the 19 acres r-ealising £8400. The majority of the sections reaiised from £250 to £260 eateh.
