Levin Nurseryman's Success At Gladioli Shows

- — A* Levin nurserymaii, Mr. H. G.. Smith, has gained distinction at two fiower shows held recently. For a number of years he has specialised in the growihg of gladioli and it is with these bulbs that he has made a name for himself in the horticultural world, . At the Miramar show, held on Januaty 24, Mr. Smith* gained five flrsts and two seconds. One of his bulbS, "Strathnarer," was judged tb be champion of champions in the champion hloom open section, At the 1 Palmerstoh North hatiohal gladiolus show; .held on January 28 and 29, Mr. Smith's blooms took six flrsts and three second places. In the large decorative ciass, his variety, "Keepsake," was' adfudged the champion. He also received* the award for the champion seedling. On the second day, his variety, "Rona" was the premier bloom.
